Baxter is an all-around fighter who uses his wide variety of pyrokinetic techniques. He even can transform into the Super X1 form!

Baxter (バクスター, Baxter) is a playable character in Fireball All Star: Universe 2019 and the main protagonist from Super Baxter.

Attributes[]

Like the other fighting games he's appeared in, Baxter is an all-around / well-balanced character being easy to pick for first time players. Baxter also has new taunts.

Baxter's jumpsquat like other characters are 3 frames to complete. He jumps slightly higher than before. He also walks slightly faster and he can dash faster than the previous game. He also has less ending lag making him easy to rack up a small combo game.

Baxter's neutral game is faster along with his forward tilt, dash attack, and forward smash. His Down smash has a new animation.

Baxter's aerial game recieved a few good buffs as well as Neutral Aerial, Forward Aerial, Up and Down Aerials.

A good Baxter Player would throw the opponent downwards and then up tilt and after that up aerial and then finish it with the Fire Jump Punch or a forward aerial.

However, Baxter does has his flaws while in the battlefield. His recovery was nerfed and has to travel a longer distance to recover. He also has trouble against characters with a disjoint hitbox such as Bonic or Jack The Reaper.

Moveset[]

  • Baxter can wall jump.

The following damage values were calculated without the 1.2× damage multiplier that is active during one-on-one fights.

For aerial attacks, full hop damage values are shown. Hovering over them shows the short hop damage values (aerial attacks performed during a short hop have a 0.85× damage multiplier).

  Name Damage Description
Neutral attack   2% Punches with his left fist first, then with his right, then kicks out forward.
2%
5%
Forward tilt   6% A wheel kick out forward.
Up tilt   8.4% An spinning uppercut. Good for juggling
Down tilt   7% A low spin kick with one leg out.
Dash attack   18% A fire slide with one leg out that knocks the opponent into the air.
Forward smash Fire Pulse 17% (arm uncharged), 21% (fire uncharged), 24% (arm fully charged), 29% (fire fully charged) Cups both of his hands together then thrusts one hand out and pulses fire from his hand out at the opponent.
Up smash   16% (uncharged), 23% (fully charged) Arcs his head back then swings it as an overhead headbutt attack.
Down smash   12% (front uncharged), 14% (back uncharged), 16% (front fully charged), 20% (back fully charged) Baxter does a breakdance on both sides. Baxter's fastest smash attack, coming out as fast as all his tilts, and both hits semi-spike opponents, though the frontal hit is rather weak.
Neutral aerial   8% A flying fire kick enhanced with flames.
Forward aerial Fire Knuckle 12.2% (late), 14.2% (clean) Rears back his fist and then throws an overhand. When hit clean, it is a meteor smash with enough knockback to KO under 45% offstage.
Back aerial   10.7% A back dropkick enhanced with Fire.
Up aerial   7.1% A bicycle kick. It is good for comboing after down throw.
Down aerial Fire Spin 1.4% (hit 1), 2.8% (hit 2), 4.2% (hit 3), 5.7% (hit 4), 7.1% (hit 5) 12.7% (hit 6), 5.6% (landing) Rapidly spins around, trapping opponents and damaging them with a series of discus clotheslines before assuming a spread-eagle position to launch them with fire around his fists.
Grab   Reaches out with one hand.
Pummel   1.5% Headbutts the opponent
Forward throw   9.6% Spins once tossing the opponent forward.
Back throw   13.2%, 8% (collateral) Spins the opponent by their legs three times before throwing them backward.
Up throw   8.4% Tosses the opponent upwards.
Down throw   6.0% A body slam. Baxter's primary combo starter, it can be followed up with several options, including Fire Jump Punch, neutral attack, and up aerial at higher percents.
Floor attack (front)   3% Gets up and punches behind him then front of him.
Floor attack (back)   5% Performs a modified version of his down smash.
Floor attack (trip)   4% Kicks behind him and then infront of him.
Edge attack (fast)   9% Performs a dropkick while climbing up.
Edge attack (slow)   5% Slowly gets back up and punches forward.
Neutral special Fireball 6% Throws a Fireball. The fireball bounces along the ground several times before disappearing. Has a lot of endlag for a weak projectile, but Baxter retains full control over his aerial mobility after using it, allowing him to continue drifting unpredictably while controlling space.
Side special Fire Reflector 8.4% Creates a Fire-like cape from his left hand then swings it around him. A good tool to use while doing horizontal recovery. It can turn opponents around and even reflect projectiles. It is good at gimping other opponents with a very good horizontal recovery.
Up special Fire Jump Punch 6% (hit 1), 0.6% (hits 2-6), 13.2% (hit 6) A jumping uppercut that produces Fireballs, Pizza or Meatball Subs on contact. Baxter's only recovery move. Its extremely fast startup (frame 3) and intangibility frames on startup make it useful as an out of shield option.
Down special Fire Pushback 0% Charges up his fire from his back around him. Once it is fully charged and the button is pressed again. Baxter will shoot fire that deals no damage to the opponent but it is good at gimping recoveries from other opponents.
Final Smash Special Blast 2-3% Baxter transforms into his Super X1 form then slowly jumps back having his arms out in a circle pattern and then has them back then thrusts both of them out shooting two gigantic normal and special fireballs out at the opponent trapping them to the blastline. It can be easily avoidable as it is just a basic final fire technique. Baxter returns to his base form afterwards.
